    Default Foraging fun

    Hi everyone!

I'm curious what any of you might have found that you think is a great foraging toy? I use Chinese boxes (sans metal handle of course), compostable cup carriers from fast-food restaurants or even make simple hand-made boxes from simple directions on kids' craft sites.

I use those Chinese finger traps. Stuff them with crinkle paper and a few treats. Sometimes I even just hang them as is or slide them over a perch. My littles love them.

I also will buy toys with multiple elements meant for bigger birds. I'll deconstruct one toy and make something new out of. I can make at least 3 or 4 toys from one most times.

I bought a box of ice cream cones, the flat bottom kind. These ones are tiny, not even 2 inches high! My grey plays with it and takes the treats out, my amazon likes to tear it into big pieces

Oh yes, all those fun things! Sugar-free ice cream cones stuffed with crinkle paper and/or treats too.

Coffee filters are great for making foraging toys. The possibilities are endless. For example, cover the top of a food cup with one, wrap toys or treats in them, crumple up and stick them inside of another toy...
